I'll take shelter in the night, walk alone, keep out of sight
In the echoes of the rain the candy man'll come and dance again.
Rolling thunder take my hand now the slaughter has begun;
Terror's turrets all are manned and when they call account I'll be gone.

In a photo by the phone stands a hero not so young,
Arms outstretched with face of stone, friend Morrissey remains all alone
With the sultry autumn skies, still bids us mark our time,
For though Wilde before his rhyme, no banishment surveys the scene.

No surprise when friends desert, except to feel again the hurt
Of remembered friendships lost. We stand alone, too weak to bear the cost.
In these echoes of the rain, and the corridors of pain,
Stand a man without a name, and when we're gone the world will remain the same.
