    Security
You should only supply credit card details over secure server connections (Amazon use a secure server). Never send credit card details over standard email.

    Notes for UK Visitors
Even though NoiseFactory is based in the UK, most prices here are quoted in US dollars - the slightly longer shipping time is usually more than made up for by considerably lower prices in America. Buying goods online is just as easy in dollars as Sterling, because credit card transactions are automatically converted to local currency at the prevailing exchange rate. In fact, online dollar purchases are cheaper even than getting your bank to generate a money order, because banks typically charge extortionate conversion fees, whereas credit cards usually charge none at all. To buy a book or CD in dollars, just fill out the online forms provided - the rest happens automatically.

    English Folk Music

NoiseFactory are founder members of the Synthetic Folk Project, and keen supporters of traditional folk music. Our controller, a keen unaccompanied folk singer and occasional composer, built the South Riding Folk Network website, and is currently a member of their Executive.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the best online source seems to be Amazon, but we also want to include titles by smaller Folk organisations - if you have authority to act as a spokesperson for such a group and would like us to list your titles, please contact us to negotiate terms.

Under his guidance, we've tried to find cheap online sources of authentic material, but confess to only partial success. There are some absiolute classics listed here, but there are also quite a few titles we wouldn't even accept as gifts - however, everyone's tastes are different, and we're infamous for being too puritanical, so we've decided to include everything that seems to be relevant.

Buying books that are out of print
Because of the low demand for folk material, many titles are listed as Out of Print (OOP). Don't let this put you off! Amazon have a network of second-hand and specialist suppliers who may be able to find the title for you. Simply click the title of the relevant entry for details.
